You will get better answers in the motorcycle section, this is for bicycles.
sounds like you are talking about a motorcycle. this is the bicycle section. on that note, i’d go with a suzuki sv650. it is a decently sporty street bike that isn’t overly heavy. some bikes are tanks. coming from the same background as you, i personally found i don’t like a lot of the street bikes. if i buy a new bike, i’m going with something like the sv650 or a nice dual sport like the wr250r.
