The person I got it from never registered the vehicle when he bought it from an auction I guess at a towing yard. He gave me the certificate of non-op from the towing yard and that was trhough May 2009. I have a bill of sale from the gentleman I purchased it from. There is a page that says DMV Vehicle Registration Information that says the VIN is not on file but it has the location of the towing yard not the gentleman I purchased it from. He also gave me his certificate of lien sale from the tow yard as well as the vehicle/vessel transfer and reassignment form from the towing yard to the gentleman. Yes I should have done a little bit more research into what I was doing before I purchased the motorycycle but it is a little late for that now. I don’t know how I can register the vehicle or what I need to do or show. I know the towing yard got the vehicle in September 2008 ( that is on the forms) but I don’t know what I need to do. I don’t want to sit at the DMV for hours to say I need such and such paper work then have to go back on another day. I know people have said that after 7 years not being registered a vehicle title basically can start over? I just don’t know what to do… Any one with experience or has done this I would appreciate your advice:) I still have contact info for the gentleman if I need him to sign diff papers or anything…
