i just bought my bike it’s a 99 gsxr 600 and i was riding it for the first time and the bike wouldn’t accelerate and died down now if i let it sit for a while i can go about two blocks if that in first gear at about 5mph and it makes a clunking noise then again it stops moving and i can’t go anywhere. perhaps a clutch problem? idk any ideas???

I use a CBR 900RR and tend to shift slower and ease into the gear rather than speed shifting as this is how they teach you in the MSF course. This slows acceleration however it seems, but I’m a bit weary to pop the clutch in and out rapidly.

I was wondering what the proper technique is to down shift on a motorcycle. I heard that its not good to hold in the clutch and down shift through gears. When ever i try to downshift through the gears and release the clutch as i go, I get a burst of acceleration when I go to a lower gear. Not what im looking for when im trying to slow down. Can any one offer any advice?

I need to know a price range for the cost to install a new clutch on a motorcycle.
I am in Boston, MA, USA. the bike is a 03 CBR600rr. Don’t know if it is a dry/wet clutch.

The clutch releases suddenly in the friction zone and the throttle has a lot of free play. How do you adjust. The motorcycle is new has 74 miles on it.
