What is a fair price for a Harley Davidson Velo Glide Bicycle?
Reilly171 asked:
My wife and I are selling a hardly used Harley Davidson Velo Glide Bicycle. 4 Speed. This is in very good condition and was given to us 2 years ago but we never use it. Does anyone know what a fair price is? We were told it is very rare. Thanks!

Ask in the motorcycle section, this is for bicycles.
Oops, just seen Harley Davidson.
Check down about 1/4 of the page, it talks about the chopper made by GT bicycles. MSRP of $2,499
I would do a Google search for the bike and see what they are going for.
Bob A:
It is a bicycle made by HD, not a chopper!
Reilly – you would want at least a few hundered at least
They aren’t THAT rare. They were sold by GT (bicycle brand) dealers. The original list price was almost $2000. but were lax in sales so most of them saw a plunge to under $300 brand new. There are still a couple in the odd shop for sale as new bikes.
GT is owned by a company called Pacific Cycle who is the largest supplier of bicycles in the world. They own many brands and the Velo Glide was one of their attempts to secure licensing the H-D name.
Anyway, I suggest that you go to and click on “Used Bike Value Calculator”, then fill out the form. It automatically determines a good sale price for you. I would use the “Actual Cash Value” price when determining a fair price.
Also, since what was paid for the bike is sketchy, I would use the midrange “original price” of $1000, and the model year of 1997.
EDIT: Just to clarify, the bikes were NOT made by HD, they were made for GT Bikes by Fairly Bicycle Manufacturing Company.
